Garry Barker, a founder member of Leeds Creative Timebank has recently resigned from his post on our organisation’s management group.
Since the Timebank’s inception in 2009 Garry has been an invaluable member of the organisation and has contributed positively in many ways. In particular, he has created graphics as well as writing newsletters and created documentation for us and has often taken up the reins when minutes are required at meetings.
Co-founder, Sarah Spanton, added ‘Garry has been a strong supporter of Leeds Creative Timebank, since supporting it as a founder, he has actively contributed his energy, ideas and practical skills, and of course time, to its development and ongoing management’.
He has often hosted brilliant events and inductions at his studio in Chapeltown. However, his unique strength has been in offering a calm, mature and creative perspective on how the Timebank develops.
One of the things Garry has frequently initiated is the very simple and highly valid notion of using LCT transactions as a platform for ‘conversations’ between artists.
Long may these continue and the management group want to take this opportunity to wish Garry all the best with his future creative projects.
