In any member-led organisation it’s critical that those members are listened to and that their needs, wishes and concerns are clearly communicated to the team running the organisation. We are very excited to announce that member Pauline Mayers has agreed to take on the new role of Members Ambassador.
“I’m a multidisciplinary theatre-maker based in the north. Originally from London, I began my dance training at the Weekend Arts College and then continued with ballet and contemporary dance at the Rambert School, London. My dance career spans 15-years and includes dancing, teaching and taking the role of rehearsal director for contemporary dance choreographers and companies across the UK.
In 2011, my practice diversified to include theatre and writing, through collaborating with theatre companies across the country. This to the creation of my first solo show “What If I Told You” in 2017 which had a national tour and a nomination for an Amnesty International Award.
I’m also a public speaker, mentor and artist provocateur. This has seen partnerships with organisations including Leeds Playhouse, Harewood House, Theatre in the Mill (Bradford) and Improbable Theatre (London).”
As her first action, Pauline is inviting all members to an online meet-up on 29th July at 2pm. Pauline says:
I’m happy to have been asked to be the Members Ambassador. It’s a great opportunity to get to know the members, understand the work that is being made, and together find ways the Leeds Creative Timebank can support your project(s).
Full information for this event will be available soon in the Facebook members group and also in a member email.
